Recognizing the large void of information available for professional anglers
and wanna-be fishing pros, Tim Tucker co-authored the first such tool - The
Bass Pro Workshop: How To Promote Yourself and Attract Sponsors. That
workbook-and-audio cassette set proved to be a big hit among anglers
at all levels.
Tucker, a long-time BASSMASTER Magazine senior
writer who has covered the tournament scene for more than 20 years, realized
that serious, career-oriented fishermen needed more information on a
regular and timely basis because the business of fishing has continually
evolved.
That led to
the creation of the Pro Angling Insider: Your Guide to the Business
Side of Fishing, which debut in January of 2000. The bi-monthly
publication was an immediate hit among anglers, sponsors and even fishing
fans who wanted to learn more about the inner-workings of the sport
of professional fishing.
In addition to the accolades
the Pro Angling Insider received from the fishing community, the publication
has won
three prestigious awards in its brief existence.
