For the fishing enthusiast, the East Coast is a goldmine of great fishing spots, certain to provide a place to drop a line. Fishermen heading to Connecticut should try Saint Mary’s by the Sea in Bridgeport. March through June and September through November are peak fishing periods. Cape Cod in Massachusetts is great for prime, deep sea fishing. When in New York, make Ausable River a destination as well as the Batten Kill River which also makes its way into Vermont. For those who love Salmon, the Salmon River of New York has national renown, hosting yearly fishing contests with a salmon fish hatchery in the town of Pulaski to see the beginning and end of the salmons’ journey. The Pequest River is a hot spot in New Jersey for fresh water fishing in addition to taking to the coast for salt water fishing.The Lackawaxen River is highly recommended in Pennsylvania. Head to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for fly fishing, surf and pier fishing, fresh water or the sound for ample opportunities of every kind of fishing. Head further south to Fort Pierce, Vero Beach, and Cocoa Beach, Florida for excellent charter fishing. East coast fishing opportunities abound.
